Family & Community
Bart & Liz and our two children live on Pond View Lane in Concord. Our oldest attends CCHS and our younger child is a student at Alcott Elementary School.
Since moving to town in 2020, I have been an active volunteer in Concord. As soon as in-person activities started up at Alcott, I became a member of the METCO Family & Friends program. That volunteer support role expanded to include support for Juniors and Seniors, as they prepared their essays for college applications. I serve as a member of the Personnel Board for the town and a member of the 250th Event Planning Committee. I am a member of the Concord Rotary Club, and try my best to adhere to their motto "Service Above Self." Through volunteering in the community and for town government, I have met and befriended so many wonderful people, enriching my life and reinforcing my belief in Concord as a welcoming community of which I am proud to be a part.
Before moving to Concord, I was with Merck & Co., Inc. for 19 years. I am a graduate of Bates College (BA) and the University of Chicago (MA, PhD).
When not volunteering, my family and I enjoy learning about our town's history, playing tennis and basketball, hiking trails around town, and cheering on our kids in their sports, chess, and musical endeavors.
Academic Excellence: Thanks to the hard work of our teachers and administrators, we have returned to pre-COVID MCAS scores in Reading, Math, and Science. We are primed to move back to a top 10 school in Massachusetts! I'd love to support these efforts.
Fiscal Balance: Concord Public Schools are well-funded and managed. Partnering with town-wide efforts to create long-term financing strategies to advance education excellence will be an important responsibility for the school committee.
Environment & Health: Concord has strong traditions of preservation, sustainable development, and encouraging healthy lifestyles and support for mental health. Our schools are part of that effort and I'm eager to support policies that will further integrate these ideals into our school programs.
